Worldmaking
Date
August 2022 - May 2023
'Worldmaking: Crafting Cultures With and For Young People’ was an Erasmus+ project (KA2 small-scale youth partnership) from 2022-2023.
The project gathered youth, artists, and activists from Belgium, Denmark, France, and the United Kingdom to reflect on the ways to introduce, install, or co-create cultures.
Conceived as a community of practice, this interdisciplinary project gathers practitioners from arts education, participatory arts, and social justice to explore the interplay between rules and values, i.e. (1) how participatory strategies stimulate group dynamics and (2) which participatory strategies can be distilled from group dynamics.
We had two international learning gatherings at Destelheide where established practitioners shared their inspiring workshops and best practices and which offered a space for emerging practitioners to test their ideas and develop their own workshops. Furthermore, we experimented with online formats and shared our workshops/sessions with local audiences (youth workers or youth).
